Culture for kids

Music, theater, visual arts, literature, history - they all tempt the youngsters to venture into a hitherto unknown world, and are great fun. Wrapped in musical theater performances and fascinating stories, the children's concerts at Gothic House inspire enthusiasm for classical music among the youngsters.

Even heavy opera is made easily digestible by the "Kleine Oper", the small opera performances in Bad Homburg. Theater for kids and teenagers is offered as part of the "Bad Homburg Summer" program, but also by numerous clubs and the Jugendkulturtreff E-Werk – the former electricity works that have now been converted into a youth cultural center – where the youngsters can actually get on stage themselves.

Young bookworms are spoiled for choice in the theme and learning worlds offered by the StadtBibliothek – the town library – and numerous events are organized where the youngsters are encouraged to join in. These events, organized under the motto "Living History", take place at both the Landgraves' Castle and the Saalburg Roman Fortress. Each year, the town of Bad Homburg publishes its "KinderKulturJugend" calendar featuring these, and many more events focusing on culture for kids.
