Health Week / Triathlon

The success of the "Bad Homburg Health Week" is based on some very special ingredients. Practical information is combined with individual tests and active movement programs, all free of charge. While a visit to the Health Week is not a substitute for a professional consultation, it does provide valuable food for thought on how to improve and maintain your own health. But it does it with numerous tips and quite a lot of fun, rather than accusingly.

In addition to presentations on specific themes, tests and examinations are offered, such as cholesterol, vein, blood sugar and body fat measurements, hearing tests, and ultrasound examinations of the carotid and abdominal arteries. Everyone can join in the back exercises, mobilization and strengthening exercises, knee and hip joint training exercises, breathing exercises for reducing stress, sound massages or yoga sessions. A caries tunnel is one of the lighthearted methods used to encourage children and teenagers to think more about health.

The exhibitors are primarily self-help groups and clubs. They are joined by the various spa facilities in Bad Homburg and a few commercial organizations. The Health Week has been taking place every two years since 1989 and is organized by Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, the town of Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe, and Kur- und Kongress-GmbH.

The Health Week in late spring is preceded by a Health Week Triathlon, which can be accomplished, not only by ambitious (leisure) athletes, but also, and above all, by the less proficient, by children aged ten or more, and by older people. The distances are much shorter than a classic triathlon: 200 meters swimming, twelve kilometers cycling, and three kilometers running.
