Spa tax

Spa tax is a public-law duty that is levied to preserve and maintain the Kurpark and all spa facilities. It must be paid by all guests who overnight in Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe unless they are specifically exempted from the obligation to pay. It is collected by the host.

The spa tax is based on daily rates, and is levied per day and person in the spa zone as follows:

Main card

3.07 €

Card for family members

2.30 €

Card for children

1.28 €

Annual card for residents

30.68 €

Annual card for residents' family members

18.41 €

Children younger than 6

Spa tax is payable from the day of arrival onwards and is due on the day of departure. The days of arrival and departure count as one day when calculating the number of days.

Special dispensations and lower rates are available; details can be found on the notice boards in the accommodation facilities, or are available from the Tourist Info + Service in the Kurhaus.

Each spa guest and resident is given a spa card when paying the spa tax. It is issued in their name and is not transferable.

The spa card allows the holder to visit the spa facilities, spa concerts and the pump room free of charge during their stay. Reduced prices are offered for events organized by Kur- und Kongress-GmbH Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe, and for various other leisure activities. Spa cards are issued by the accommodation facilities and clinics, and by the spa administrative office (Kurverwaltung), Kaiser-Wilhelms-Bad, in the Kurpark.
